Crime Suspense Teens & Young Adult

"Dammit Jessica, what were you thinking!?!" I screamed at my best friend. "Eli, I had to. I couldn't get him off my mind!" She screamed back. I guess for you to understand we have to go back to the beginning. It was about one in the morning I was driving her to my house. We were both pretty up there drunk. We were fucking around, she kept trying to unbutton my pants. "No Jessie wait!" I would whine. She would continue.

I look at her and she's laughing at first. Then the look turns to pure terror. I slammed on the breaks but It was too late. I brought both of my hands to the wheel and brought my head down. "Fuck!! It was probably just an animal." I tell her she shakes her head and we both get out of the car. I started shaking "Jessie... Get Back in the fucking car." I screamed at her.  She didn't listen and rounded the back of the car.

"W-what? W-we hit a person!" She started sobbing. "GET BACK IN THE FUCKING CAR!" I screamed again. I grabbed the guy's arm and tried to take his pulse. He was dead, I looked in his pockets for a wallet. I found nothing, probably a druggie. I dragged the body to the side of the bridge and tossed it in the water under the bridge. "Nobody is gonna know now okay Jessie?" I said

Nobody did for a few weeks, that someone had died until the body washed up in the harbor. My friends kept asking me if I had seen the news. My response was always "Who the fuck would do something like that to an innocent person" And it would always be followed by a little shiver and a flashback to that night. They would always answer with "I know right. Gotta be a pretty sick bastard to run someone over then dump their body in the water."  I would agree and Jessica would just stand there silent. That brings us to where we are now.

"Dammit Jessica, what were you thinking!?!" I screamed at my best friend. "Eli, I had to. I couldn't get him off my mind!" She screamed back. "Then GO SEE A FUCKING THERAPIST LIKE I HAVE. NOT THE FUCKING COPS. GODDAMMIT!" I Screamed loud enough the people in the apartment hit the wall and yelled at me to shut up. "GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY HOUSE!" When she gets out I start to pack my bags. I'm about to climb out the second-story window. I hear a knock on my door.

"OPEN THE DOOR OR WE WILL KICK IT IN" I stood there and took a deep breath. "Fuck my life" then walked to the door. "Hello, officer" "Are you, Elijah Patterson?" The officer asked. I nodded "you are under arrest sir." I brought my hands behind my back and felt the cuffs being put on. “Officer, what did I do?” I ask with a slight innocence to my voice. “You ran over a very well respected businessman. Then threw his body off the bridge.” I acted shocked “Oh my God... He didn’t have his wallet on him I didn’t know who it was.” I gasped for air as they walked me out to the patrol car. Jessica was standing off in the distance with her mom. I let out a slight laugh then mumbled “fucking snitch we vowed never to talk about it.”

When we sat down in the interrogation room. I was cuffed to the table. The first question was “Why did you do it?” I replied with a sad look on my face. “I was drunk, I shouldn’t have been driving and I had a friend who was umm.” I gestured down to my pants with my fingers. Then continued speaking. “He jumped out in front of the vehicle and Initially I thought it was an animal because I wasn’t paying attention and was focusing on other things. So I slammed on the brakes and told Jessica to stay in the car. She got out anyways, I told her to get back in the car when I say what we had hit. She got emotional and started sobbing and I would have too. “ They looked at me suspiciously. “I threw his god damn body off the bridge because I thought he was some low life druggie, nobody would miss.” At this point, I was pissed, at them and myself.

“Then you found the body, I didn’t turn myself in because I’m too young to go to prison. And nobody was gonna know until that bitch told you guys. Instead of going to a therapist like we originally planned.” “Why weren’t you going to tell anyone.” “Could I get a coke I’m extremely thirsty? Anyways we weren’t gonna tell anybody because we were scared and we had it under wraps and had a cover story. Plus we were drunk. Well her parents would kill us because we’re seventeen and not supposed to be drinking. I didn’t want to lose my license and the love of my life. Which I did anyway, just because she can’t hold her tongue.” I laid my head down on the cold table. They handed me the coke I had asked for. “ Can I get my one phone call as well?” They nodded and started to uncuff me. They leave and I picked up the phone and called my friend Asher “hey uh I got myself into trouble I guess you could say.” he replied, “ Yeah okay, give me about 15 minutes and I’ll be there.” the cops walked in again and I quickly replied,  “yeah okay, love you too mom.” out of panic I sat back down and took a swig of my coke. “My mother is getting her lawyer I’m not saying another damn thing until they arrive.” I looked at my watch, five more minutes. A sicking smile appeared on my face. “What’s so funny you sick motherfucker?” He asked. As soon as the clock hit 10 I laughed “ This mother fucker” I covered my mouth and nose stood up and kicked my chair at them. The door opened and a smoke bomb was thrown in to disorient them.

I ran out of the door and smiled at asher. “Hell yeah baby!” He laughed and high fived me. We ran out of the building I saw multiple people that were dead. “I did it.” I smirked “That bitch Jessica had to ruin it all…” I ran and jumped into the running car. We saw a roadblock set up close to the state line. Asher had hollowed out the seat for me to hide in so I climbed back there and hide. While the state trooper was checking his vehicle I was falling asleep in the back. I felt the car start moving and was glad now I had something to focus on instead of how tired I was. Long story short. I’m now living in new jersey with my mafia boss boyfriend Thomas Gray.
