By the time we stepped outside, the trees were all on fire.
The breeze snatched the amber leaves and waltzed them way up higher.
Orange, red and crimson were all up in ablaze.
A scrimmage of yellow shone beneath the gold sunrays.
Naked branches poked up through the madness of the colours
High above us beautifully, one of natures truest wonders
The wind it sings its eire song through the maze of woods alone
As it does in every season, through every milestone
All around us autumns here, alive in its full glory.
It is waiting right now to talk to you, it wants to tell a story
I take your tiny hand in mine as we slowly walk on.
There's no rush for us this morning, it is only now just dawn
I hear the crunch of fallen leaves under your small boot.
They crumble beneath us as we continue on our special route
But if on our journey your feet grow sore, tired weak, or wary
Please know I’m right here next to you, my arms were made to carry
I want to pause this moment as I look down upon your face
The clock keeps ticking, ticking, ticking like it is trying to win a race
You’re growing up so quickly, you’re changing so much and oh so fast.
Four years old already, is slowing down too much to ask?
This season is my favourite but the next one may be too
For I’ll show you how the seasons change, and also so do you
Each one is a blessing if you know just where to look
Stay with me child and together we will check in every nook
Oh, little one I need you to see the marvel that is fall.
The leaves fall down, the trees stand bare, there is beauty through it all
From the right perspective and peace of mind, we can enjoy all this world has to offer
There’s so much now, in front of us, please never wait for summer
Oh, child, I do know the nights get long and sorrow
But smile as the sun fades west for it will return tomorrow
The milky way will guide you to love the sky each night
Love here, right now, love strong and hard the timing is just right
The harvest moon takes center stage come here and take a seat
Just you, me and the man on the moon, oh what a special treat
For now, allow the life of night to run this special show
For many critters night is their day lets watch them come and go
Oh, child, do not turn away from that crisp autumn breeze.
Breathe in fully, fill your lungs, it will not make you wheeze.
The freshness that is autumn air comes second to none
But those who stay inside all day, miss out on all the fun
There’s nothing better than the warmth of a sweater when October comes around.
Let’s bundle up and wander out, lets go and paint the town
The softest scarves are wrapped around us once or twice
Fleece, wool, or cotton? Any will suffice!
The chilly air brings pleasures that heat can simply not
and one is steaming drinks, their scrumptious and so hot.
Let’s drink our fill of hot chocolate, cider, or whatever the barista makes
You can have the whip cream mustache and I the cinnamon flakes
Come to me well cuddle up and read all night and day
For nothings better than words under blankets where we can stay
Together we can travel anywhere within these pages
And tomorrow somewhere new as we can bundle up for ages
My child, there is so much fun to be had this month, didn’t you know
A lot must be done before the ground is filled with fluffy snow
Let's pumpkin pick and carve the lot, spooky, silly, scary?
Well light them up and put them out, well call the big one Larry
And when our stomachs rumble loudly well set out to the farm
To pick a bushel of apples from a place with rustic charm
And if you do not fancy a nice sweet apple bite
Potatoe, carrot, pumpkin, squash are more than just alright.
Oh child when the seasons change some things come and go
Like the water down the creek, all things have a flow
Just know you too are traveling, up close its hard to see
Remember to be kind to yourself and you will set yourself free
The birds they leave, their path is set, travel south they must.
Let it teach you that each creature has a journey, let it teach you to trust.
Each being is on their own path and you can’t see it all
But when fate brings you back together the party won’t be small
When the new season comes, I’ll show you all its wonders too.
The first frost brings new adventures just for me and you.
Seasons change and so do you, enjoy every moment of it.
Do not wait to love the world we’re in and you will benefit
As I look once more at the amber all around us
I think of all I want to teach you, all I want us to discuss
Instead, I sit back and let autumn talk, its beauty's there guide you
For through nature we learn to look and listen so let's enjoy the view
Seasons change and so do you, each one is still a blessing
Each stage in life brings something new as you are progressing
Growing up is challenging, it is difficult at each age
But if you know where to look there is happiness in every stage
More than anything I want to find joy in simple things
Like trees, leaves, simple walks, and birds that stretch their wings
I want you to love the world we're in, all in its entire
Want you to always remember, the trees that were on fire.

Very beautiful. I really like that you went with a poem. There is something poetic about autumn and this brings it out so well.
