Foreshadow: Once inside the gas station I immediately ran to the man lying face up making sure my DNA didn't spread anywhere near the crime scene. "Sir, sir!! "Please give me a reaction! Oh no this is not good! What evil bastard could do something like this?" Since my phone had died, I began scurrying around to find the store business phone to call 911 for emergency. Moving too quickly, I ended up slipping in the dark red blood that was oozing out all over the floor. In the middle of the day, I am alone inside a gas station, Route 66; with a dead employee leaking blood from the slit in his throat onto the floor that created a puddle of red blood I could see my reflection through. Not a single soul was around to help me aid this deceased man, or figure out if the criminal is still lurking around the store. For all I know, I could be next to die!!

"Oh damnit! There goes one of my tires!" "I don't need this shit happening right now!" "Skurrrrr!!" (Tire left smoking as Billy scrambles for a solution) "huhh!" "Okay, now think Billy, you don't have a spare what can you do?" Just before I began to wallow in my thoughts, I rose my head from my disappointingly dire situation and saw a gas station companied Route 66. "Hopefully my luck will get better from here, there better be somebody in this gas station who can help me get back on the road," I said to myself. The walk was only 10 minutes away from where I stood while my car remained smoking from the burning rubber that melted away my tire. As I arrived closer to the gas station, I noticed something was off. There were no cars, it was quiet as a graveyard, and the main front business door was left wide open with blood prints that tracked off the scene away from the building. "What the hell happened here?" I thought to myself. I carefully made my way inside the store while simultaneously tiptoeing around the blood prints. Once inside the gas station I immediately ran to the man lying face up making sure my DNA didn't spread anywhere near the crime scene. To my dismay, I see a dead man's body whose upper neck area was covered in blood, still leaking out profusely. For all I know, I could be next to die! I picked myself back up with ease giving no attention to the dead man's blood I fell into. I alleviatingly found the business phone and was welcomed with relief to hear a tone as I immediately dialed 911 to get help. (Dispatch)"911, will this be an emergency or non emergency?" "Emergency!!" I exclaimed "And to who am I speaking with?" "My name is Billy Randolph I am at 3666 S. Hill Rd. In the middle of nowhere at a gas station, it's called Route 66. Ma'am I am scared for my life, there is a dead man in here he's bleeding out everywhere and I have no clue if the killer is still around!" I'm stranded with a flat tire and no one else is here-" "Okay, okay, calm down sir!" I'm gonna get you immediate help right this minute, please take deep breaths and give as much information as possible to the police when they arrive and the paramedics." "Okay, I'm so sorry ma'am I'm just really terrified right now cuz I don't know if the person who did this is still close by; I hope I'm still alive by the time the police and paramedics arrive." "Sir, please try to relax, I know this situation is scary and difficult, but I'm going to stay on the phone with you until they get there okay!" "Okay!" (Sirens)"Weeeeeeerrrrrrrr.weeeerrr. "Oh thank God!" "It sounds like them in the background!" "Yes they're here, they came so quick, thank you so much ma'am!" "You're welcome sir, I hope everything is resolved for you, take care." "Thank you again, goodbye!" "GOOD EVENING SIR, MY NAME IS OFFICER LYLES (shows badge while in present) WE'RE GONNA GET YOU TO THE HOSPITAL BUT FIRST WE GOTTA ASK YOU SOME SERIOUS QUESTIONS ON WHAT HAPPENED HERE." "Of course, my car blew a flat tire and I was hoping to get help at this gas station until I came across the dead man in there( paramedics are carrying out the dead body on the stretcher zipped up in a body bag) I slipped in his blood trying to find a phone since mines was dead, and I got scared because I saw the blood prints and figured the killer was still around." "WELL, WE WILL BE FURTHER INVESTIGATING THE CRIME SCENE TO COME BACK WITH ANY DNA EVIDENCE ON ANY POSSIBLE LEADS FOR A SUSPECT." "Sounds good sir, I'm more than willing to help in anyway I can, but first, I jus wanna get the hell outta here!" Maybe come back for my car when I find a spare." "AS A COURTESY, WE CAN ACTUALLY GET YOU A FREE TOWING IF YOU'D LIKE MR. RANDOLPH, BUT YOU'LL HAVE TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TIRE REPAIR COSTS." "I am so thankful, that sounds wonderful Officer LYLES!"

Going forward, Billy was transported into the ambulance headed off to the hospital. The kind officers kept their word and got Billy a free tow truck to tow his car back to the nearest shop location while the officers kept in contact with Billy to confide any further information to help solve the case. Billy was fortunate to have survived this shockingly unexpected situation.

Two things are apparent with this entry...you get into storytelling like me, and just as I did, you assume that your readers can follow your train of thought; also, in that haste, your fingers can't keep up with your mind. I will tell the advice I was given show, don't tell...more details like I shivered thinking would I become a victim or the suspect. The first paragraph threw me off until I read the story without foreshadowing.
