Murder Silenced Me.

Jeff is a college student at Westmont University, and a star Quarter Back football player, who came from a wealthy family, and all the girls adored him. He was nice-looking, tall, and smooth with words. But Jeff really only had eyes for Lynn who was the apple of his eyes. She was tall, with long black hair, beautiful eyes, and a winning smile. She turned lots of heads! She and Jeff have been dating for about a year and a half. Jeff would say, “I’m going to marry her one day.” All of the guys knew that Lynn was off the market. But that didn’t matter to one football player named Frank. He didn’t like Jeff, even though they played for the same team. Because he wanted Lynn, but she wanted Jeff. Jeff was unaware that Frank didn’t like him. As a matter of fact, Jeff thought Frank was a cool guy. He would even invite Frank to hang out with him and some of the other guys at different events. One day while coming from a movie theater, Lynn got a phone call from her mother telling her that her day has Cancer in his Liver. Lynn did not take the news well, because Lynn and her dad are very close, she a daddy’s girl. Her mom asks, “If she could come home for a while, to be with the family.” Lynn said, “I'll be there.” Lynn told the news to her boyfriend, he consoled her and said, “I’m so sorry to hear about your dad, I know you got to go because you want to be close to your family.” He said, “I won't be able to go, because I got a game to play next week. Lynn said, “I understand.” Jeff gave her a big hug and said, “But please give everyone my love.” So, Lynn explained to her principal and professors about her dad’s situation, letting them know that she will be leaving to spend time with her family during this difficult time. Jeff spent as much time as he could with Lynn before she left to go home. The time came for Lynn to leave, Jeff drove her to the bus station, he put her luggage in the luggage compartment. He said, “Don’t worry, everything is going to be alright.” “I love you, have a safe trip, I’ll see you when you get back.” They kissed, Lynn got on the bus, the bus drove off, and Jeff headed back to the dorm. The next day, which was Friday, the coach called an Important meeting, letting the team know that the game that will be played next week is very important. He said, “Top recruiters will be there.” He said, “I’m looking for greatness from each one of you, do I make myself clear?” The team said, “Yes, coach, it will be a good game.” Soon Lynn arrived to her home town, her oldest brother picked her up from the bus station. When they returned home, her family was happy to see her. She asked her mom and dad, “So, what did the doctor say?” The Mom said, “The results have not come back yet. We go Wednesday to find out the results. Lynn said, “I hope it’s not anything we can’t handle.” “Me too”, says the mom. Dad then says, “Whatever the results are, we’ll deal with it as a family.” Lynn calls Jeff to let him know that she made it home safe, and her family sends their love. Jeff said, “I’m happy you made it there safe, how is your dad doing?” she said, “He looks good, considering. Jeff says, “Bae, stay strong for your dad, and please get some rest after being on that bus for 6 hours.” “I wish you had of let me bought you a plane ticket.” She said, “You know I hate airplanes.” Lynn said, “I’ll call you tomorrow, and don’t get into any trouble while I'm gone.” He said, “I want.” Soon the big game day came, the team was hyped, they were ready to play! Westmont University played their hearts out. They won with 4 touchdowns; the coach was super excited! Jeff told the team, “party at my parents' vacation home this Saturday, it’s about 45 minutes away from here.” “Check your email for the address.” He also invited some of the students from the school as well as some of the cheerleaders. Later that day, Jeff called Lynn to let her know they won. She said, “Congratulations, I’m so happy to hear that!” Jeff then asked, “how is everything going with your family?” She said good, “My dad results came back today,” The doctor said, “The Cancer was caught early, it is just a small spot on his liver that needs to be removed.” Jeff said, “Great, I am happy to hear that.” He said, well Bae, “I love you and I just call to let you know about our big win and to see how things going with your family, I’ll call you tomorrow.” She said, “I Love you, too.” Soon, Saturday came, it was party time! They all arrived at the house, it was nice and big, with a pool outback. Jeff told everyone, “To please Have fun, and clean up after yourselves.” Everyone was turned up and having a good time. Drinking, smoking, dancing, playing games, some even got in the pool. This party was rocking! But Frank noticed that Jeff was on the phone with someone, he couldn’t hear what was being said, but he could tell by the expression on Jeff’s face, he wasn’t very happy with the person on the other end. Frank asked Jeff, “was everything ok,” He was hoping he’d had a fight with Lynn, “Yeah right, like that would really happen, because one thing about it, Jeff really loved Lynn.” “That’s why Frank envied him so much!” Jeff said, “He just needed some fresh air to clear his head.” Jeff returned to the party, and got, even more, turned up. When the party was over, everyone left, Jeff was wasted, he fell asleep downstairs on the sofa. Frank, also was a bit wasted, He stumbled upstairs to one of the spare bedrooms, took off my shoes, and passed out on the bed. Frank got up very early the next morning and went to the restroom, while coming out of the restroom the doorbell rang, Jeff got up, and opened the door, it was Erica, she used to be a cheerleader at Lincoln High School. She hands Jeff a piece of paper, Jeff looks at the paper and said, “It’s not mine, I told you that over the phone.” Erica said, “Oh yeah, it’s yours.” Jeff then said, “You have to get rid of it.” She said, “I’m not having an abortion!” “It was a mistake, and you know it,” he said. Erica said, “Maybe it was, and now everyone’s going to know that I’m having your baby, even your precious Lynn.” Jeff said, “No, Lynn can never find out about this.” It will destroy our relationship.” Erica said, “You should have thought about that before you bedded down with me two months ago.” Jeff was so mad, he pushed Erica down to the floor, grab a pillow off the sofa, and began smothering the life out of her! He got up, and her body was limp and lifeless. Jeff called out Erica, Erica, but no sound came from her, Jeff was in a panic, he didn’t know what to do, he felt for a pulse, but didn’t find one. He grabs his keys, rushed out of the house leaving Erica’s body on the floor. Frank too was nervous, he thought to himself, “I got to get out of here because I don’t want to be blamed for this murder.” He quickly put on his shoes, as he was coming down the stairs, he heard Jeff driving off. He saw Erica’s dead body on the floor, he took his shirt and open the door being careful not to leave any fingerprints. He shut the door behind him, a half a block away he spotted his car, he quickly got into his car and drove about six miles to the police station. While talking to the police, about what he had witnessed, Jeff returns to the house, with some large garbage bags, he stuffs Erica’s body into the garbage bag, he cleans up whatever mess that was left from the party. Afterward, Jeff leaves and went back to the dorm. He acted as if nothing had happened, he acted his normal self. Everyone was telling him how much fun they had at the party. He said, “Yeah, it’s one that we’ll never forget.” Soon the police arrived at Westmont University, to speak with Jeff about the alleged murder that supposed to have taken place at his known resident. The police asked, “do you know an Erica Tomlin. He said, “Yes, she was one of the cheerleaders at Lincoln High School.” “What’s this all about officer?” Someone said, “You had a wild party last night, and this morning, Erica arrived at your place, a fight broke out between you two, and you smothered her and left the body on the floor.” Jeff said, “Officer, I have no idea what you're talking about.” “Whoever told you that must have had a little too much to drink.” The police said, “Please come with us because we have to do a thorough investigation.” The police officer put Jeff in the back seat of the police car and issued a warrant to search his parents’ vacation home. Jeff accompanied the officers back to the house and said, “Be my guest.” In a very calm manner. The three police officer searched the home from top to bottom, the home was clean and tidy, “it didn’t even seem like a party was thrown the night before.” said one of the officers. While Frank was sitting at the police station, waiting to see the officers bring Jeff in for murder, he thought to himself, “now I will have a chance to be with Lynn,” whom he has been wanting ever since high school. The officer in charge asked the other two officers, “Did they find anything?” Each one said, “Not a thing, Just a large garbage bag, full of beer cans, soda bottles, and a few liquor bottles. The officers said, “Sorry to have bothered you, sir, we’ll take you back to school.” When the officers returned to the station, they asked Frank, are you sure you're telling us the truth about what you saw because we search that home from top to bottom and there was nothing that looked like murder. Frank was stunned. He said, “I know what I saw!” One of the officers, said, “Go home son, and sleep it off.” Frank left quietly, with a puzzled look on his face, and shaking his head. He was just in disbelief. When class was over, Jeff realized he never took the trash bag out to the dumpster from the night before. So, Jeff returns to the home, took out the trash, and made sure everything was in order. As Jeff was leaving his parents’ vacation home, he gazed at the staircase and said, “Sleep tight Erica.”
