To start where I should, or at least bring you "up to speed", I am needing to "backtrack" nearer the beginning so you will be sure to see what I am seeing, but through my eyes.
This is where I am at, in this present moment, in this present place, in this darkness that engulfs my very being, is wrapped around me, like a blanket, and has me in its grasp, taking every breath I breathe, until it overwhelms me endlessly.
The rain started earlier, when the black clouds rolled inward, turning a clear and sunny day, into a void of endless black. It was the rain that came, I thought to calm me and help me not to start crying, yet it turned on me, and left me without a way to hide the tears, or even my shame for crying these tears.
I was unaware of the very fear the rain brought, yes the rain is suppose to be your "friend", or so I was lead to believe, but when the rain brings along with itself, some thunder (loud annoying banging thunder) and the lightening, ( yes the loud booming, crackling lightening), it is sure to let you know that the rain is not your "friend", much less there to help you out at all.
The rain, may start out soft and gentle, start out light and easy, but then without warning, it can become hard and relentless, cold and without the will to let you enjoy the wetness and moisture. It sees your weaknesses, and it see right through you, to the very core of your soul and spirit, trying to find a way in, to make you become its eternal slave and to do its bidding.
The rain can become so damp and cold, that as it "chills" you to the bone, making your clothes useless when you need to find a way to keep warm. The rain sees you as, no longer a warrior, but now as a helpless victim, with no one who will reach out to help you, for fear they will become as you are, without your defenses and with your guard down, it will strike you, with no remorse.
The rain soaks you, breaks you, makes you says things, in response to how the rain makes you feel, it knows that your words and actions will only give it an endless supply of strength, to beat you and beat you down deeper than ever imagined. How you might try to use your limited defenses, like an umbrella, (it laughs at the idea, because a good fierce wind will eliminate that idea), or even a special outwear, of lets say a rain jacket with bib overalls to match (yet it scoffs at this idea, because once it enters into your open pants legs, making them damp or thoroughly wet, then you have no use for them), or even if you place your pants inside wet weather boots, if it rains long enough and hard enough, then you may be blown away by the windy weather that arrives along with the rain.
The rain never fails to warn you, not in a fair amount of time, to allow you to prepare for what may come your way, either alone or with other parts of it. The Rain never apologizes, is never forgiving, is never one to admit defeat, because it knows it "has you in its sights, waiting to arrive and then reward you with much more than you can handle, declaring itself as the unanimous winner, unofficially.
The rain is the one thing that causes large ship to run aground, causing these same ships to become defenseless to the tides and the waves, wrecking against the rocks, cliffs, and jagged boulders. It will leave you without a sense of direction, along with the mist and fog, causing you to no longer know where you are and where you may be heading towards, even to be the cause of an auto accident.
The rain rules the land and the water, turning solid mountain sides in to muddy mudslides, small creeks and rivers into raging rushing water, that can overpower vehicles and move them outward or crushing them like a junk yard wrecker. The rain can become an "iron fisted" tyrant, dictating which way "it" will go and what "it" will do after it arrives there.
Yes the rain does do good, but if given the opportunity to run wild, then it can no longer good but do more damage than good. It has its flaws and faults, so set off by man, but most are set into motion my "Mother Nature", as the rain is her way of letting us know when she has had enough. "Enough of what, you may ask?" Enough humiliation, enough destruction, enough tearing up and never replacing what has been destroyed. The rain can be sized up in the idea that all that is done to "Mother Nature", all that bad things that is done, hurts planet Earth, and leaves it with scars that may never fully heal.
Some places need more rain than others, while some places can get too much rain and the consequences of too much rain can leave death and devastation in its wake. It can cause things to be moved or replaced, whether livestock, people, or farm land. Whether it is neighborhoods, or cities, or even dams and waterways. The path that is brings may be beyond repair and will make all have to change whatever way they were doing things, into doing them differently for many years to come.
The rain is something that can be used for good, like watering crops, or allowing us to drink from a fountain or tap, that can keep us cool on a hot summer's day. Yes it is an essential for the body to have rain and water, for without either, all living things will die and cease to exist.
Whether the rain is a welcoming part of our day or is dreaded part of our day, we should accept it and hope that it will kinder to us than we have been to it.
