Drama Science Fiction Teens & Young Adult

It happened at school. The first vision. I thought it was just a daydream as I sat at my desk having a normal day. A vision of the sight of deep space and a large black spaceship.

“She can see me, father.” A voice said in my head.

“Good, good. I have waited for so long for her to appear. Make sure she knows that we are coming.” Another voice said.

“Miss Andromeda!” I jumped as my math teacher yelled my name. I looked at her with an annoyed expression. “I see you are dozing off again. So why don’t you answer the question I just asked?” She challenged. I looked at the board behind her and saw a complicated calculus problem. It was not a problem one could easily solve.

“That is the Riemann Hypothesis…the most important unsolved equation in calculus. If I solve that…I may break the universe.” I smiled. My answer caught her off guard and I could see it ruffled her feathers.

“Eh-hem. That is correct.” She responded. I went back to look outside of the window. I continued to have visions throughout the day, even when I was awake. By the time I got home, the visions had drained me.

“Mom! Dad! I am home!” I said as I staggered into the kitchen. I nearly fell to the floor making my father catch me before I hit the ground.

“Andromeda!” My father exclaimed as he caught me. “What is wrong?” He asked.

“I keep having dreams while I am awake. Someone talking to me, a father and son. It has been making my head hurt throughout the day.” I explained. My father looked at me with concern.

“Tell me about these visions? What do you see?” He asked me as he held me up.

“Um…in outer space. Inside a black spaceship.” I described what I saw in the visions.

“Oh no.” My father said. My mother then came into the room.

“What is it, dear?” She asked my father.

“Thay are coming.” My father said.

“What? No.” My mother said with a light laugh.

“She is having visions of a black spaceship.” My father said. I watched as all the color faded from my mother’s face.

“We must warn the humans!” She exclaimed.

“Yes! Surely, they will know what to do!” My father agreed. They both grabbed me and dragged me out of the house. They forced me into their car, and we drove to the police station. Once we arrived at the police station they dragged me out of the car and inside with them.

“Where do we report an alien invasion?” My mother asked the front desk clerk. Both the clerk and I shared a confused look.

           “Um…what?” The clerk asked.

“We have reason to believe that the invader species is heading to your planet. They want to make our daughter their goddess-“

“Which is why we came here to hide! Are species look exactly alike so we could blend in better on Earth than anywhere else.” My mother interjected.

“Yes! Earth is quite lovely. And we would like to help save it. You see if the invaders arrive, they will want to enslave your race because you are an inferior species.” My father explained. The clerk looked at me.

“Did you drug your parents?” He asked me.

“No. I just complained about having a headache and weird dreams.” I told him.

“Okay…well folks. I will let one of the higher ups know about this alien invasion.” The clerk smiled. My parents frowned at his sudden willingness to help.

“We are not crazy.” My father said. “If you do not do something, you will be enslaved.” He added.

“I hear you; enslavement is not ideal. I will let someone know. You folks should just head home and get some rest. Let law enforcement take care of everything.” The clerk smiled. My parents grabbed me and marched out of the police station in anger.

“Stupid humans!” My father yelled. “What use are they if they chose to be so small-minded.” He complained.

“That was just a lowly civil servant. He has no power anyway. We need to go and see the president of this country! He will surely be more willing to listen to us than a close-minded servant.” My mother offered.

“What?” I asked as I felt another vision coming on.

“We will be there soon my dearest. One more hyper jump and we will be at Earth.” The voice said in my head.

“We need to go to the White House, now!” My father demanded as he shoved me into the car. My head hurt so much, and I felt like I was hallucinating. I watched as the car transformed suddenly from a normal car to a small white spaceship.

“Trippy.” I said as I ran my hand over the luxurious seats of the spaceship. I laid down and passed out as the spaceship took off.

When I woke up, I was no longer in a spaceship. Instead, I was in my parent’s car, which was currently parked in the middle of the road in front of the white house. I got out of the car and watched in embarrassment as my parents stood yelling at police officers on the sidewalk and a group of secret service men who stood on the other side of the fence.

“You must do something about the alien invasion!” My father yelled.

“Sir, please calm down.” A secret service agent said calmly.

“We are citizens of your planet! Are daughter was raised on your planet! We are asking for your help to save our daughter and your planet.

“Fuck this!” My father said suddenly. We all watched as my father transformed in front of everyone. His short black hair turned into black flames as his tanned skin turned coal black, his clothing went from normal business attire to an all-black full-body suit with glowing red lines adorning it. He looked at the police officers and secret service men with glowing red eyes. “Now will you do something, you fucking morons?” He spat.

“Holy shit!” The police officers and Secret Service agents pointed their guns at my father.

“You idiots!” My mother then transformed before them. Her long blonde hair turned into flowing white flames, as her skin lost all its color and turned shale white. Her sundress transformed into an all-white full body suit with glowing blue lines adorning it. She glared at the men with glowing blue eyes. “How dare you aim your pathetic weapons at my husband!” She raised her hand up and aimed it at the police officer and Secret Service agents. However, before she could attack them, the sky darkened, and a loud crackling noise rang out as a large black ship appeared out of nowhere.

“See! We told you!” My father complained. The ship created a loud metallic noise as a smaller ship came out of it. The smaller ship landed on the other side of the road, and I ran to hide behind my mother.

“What is going on?” I asked in fear.

“The invaders have arrived.” My mother said. I watched as a group of men wearing outfits similar to my father’s departed from the ship. All the men had glowing red eyes besides two of them, who instead had glowing purple eyes.

“Duke Draco!” The older man with purple eyes greeted my father, then looked at my mother. “And Queen Estella.” He bowed to her slightly.

“King Neutron.” My mother greeted him with disdain. The man then noticed me hiding behind her.

“And this must be Princess Andromeda.” He smiled at me, showing off his fangs.

“What the hell is going on?!” I yelled at my parents. They shared a glance before both sighing.

“King Neutron…we did not tell her.” My mother said.

“I suppose it is easier to hide her if she does not know what she is. Your attempt was admirable, but you know as well as I do that one cannot escape the visions of the Oracle.” Neutron sighed.

“I know…we just hoped to change her fate.” My father said in defeat.

“I know you left the invaders because you did not agree with our ways. I have tried my best to change the unnecessary cruelty our kind implemented, but it will take more than just a king to fix our entire species.” Neutron said.

“I still need answers!” I interjected. The younger man, who looked to only be a few years older than me came over to me.

“You are the princess of the last Queen of the peacekeeper species. Your people were slaughtered by our people hundreds of years ago, your father had been sent to murder your mother, but fell in love with her instead and they both ran away to the farthest distance of our galaxy. Your birth was foretold by the ancient Oracle that all species worshiped. A child of peace and war would be born and would be destined to unite the galaxy and become the reigning goddess.” The young man fell to his knees before me. “We have come to you to ask for you to join us and stop the carnage that all the species have caused throughout this galaxy. Planets and solar systems have been lost due to our arrogance. We need the prophesized goddess to save us.” He begged. I looked at him in confusion.

“But…I am human!” I exclaimed. My mother waved her hand over me, and I watched as my ivory skin turned ashen gray. My long straight black hair turned to dark gray flames that floated around me. My outfit was replaced by a long gray dress that was adorned with jewels that sparkled like stars.

“You are an alien.” My mother said. “Sorry.” She apologized. I looked at my hands, then at all the aliens in front of me.

           “Ahhhhh!” I screamed.

I was attempting to write this for a contest but I do not think it meets the criteria. I just needed to get it out of my head. May use it for a novella idea later. We'll see.
