I was ten years old at the time, our family didn't live in complete poverty, but we weren't exactly rules in the wealth either.i had my two sets of clothes.,one for work and one for school ,or sunday best.i shared a room with my little sister and my little brother had gotten his own room.and I had two books to read out family could afford three meals a day mind you they weren't to talk about in my circle of friends, heard mother's making biscuits and fruit salad gotten rye bread and a cup of tea well you know what they say there ? Aye! I heard of children sandwiches for lunch and roast for supper. And we gotten beans .a d cause mum was english ,they can't cook so One day me .my brother and sister to sell stuff for our own stall on the street in our local neighbourhood so we could use the money we made to buy decent food which mainly was McDonald's yummy yum we thought and what items we sold were our old things like cassettes and radio and some walkman s which were still in good working order but didn't really have much household items to sell.for money even once we found an old skate shoes and sold that .well dinner wasn't only at mcdonald's.indulgind on yummy cheese burger s and coke and those beautiful fries we gotten to buy KFC and and went for breakfast at a bakery for buttered croissant and can of coke..years and months went by and we out grew the street stall. So my little smart sister gotten a job as a catalogue delivery in our local neighbourhood letter boxes of people homes while I gotten lazy to help her and halves with the money so did my brother and lived off our dole payment s and often my brother and me staying out till late indulging in take out foods and even Chinese and sister went wild and joined bad group of people. And many years s we all survived into adulthood lived and not near in bit of poverty my sister woken up from her bad teen years and went to study hard at several universities and brother unfortunately died of alcoholism.and I ended up working in a library. As ive always liked books .and what happened to our parents well still alive .though mum ended in a nursing home.and dad on his own band picked cans and bottles to manage to survive on the pension for good food but later gotten sick and passing away in a home unit of a friend house who he sometime stayed .well at least my mum had been alive still in her nursing and me and sister would occasionally visit time to time and is still continuing to do well with healthy nursing home food and though she still a bit frail now of old age and getting by on her Walker and my library work is good even set my home unit into a library and sister made getting her Univ degree and got a job as a psychologist.and now our most favourite food is chicken with rice and sweet and sour creamy sauce which my sister showed me the recipe and and took left over s to our mum in the nursing home which the staff did n't mind. Oh yes that chicken with rice and sweet sour cream sauce. And or chicken curry cuisine and yummy yummy .oh by the way from having so many McDonald's food made me into a diabetic and from those sugar coke s .but I am on and take good care and precautions of what I now eat. Sister also half border diabetic and oh so if never made our own street stall so many year s we maybe would not have survived staying around to eat just rye bread and beans our poverty mum made us eat so with our hard work ing money well McDonald's had to be for us. And the KFC (Kentucky fried chicken) now we can lavish on chicken with rice and sweet sour creamy sauce chicken curry cuisine and yummy food and beverage to be put on the table is dirt coke.and and from those who passed away in any way the same street as well as the support of the story.welfare kind of help Ed but mum never allowed charity and once screaming at them go away so welfare never returned back which was a good idea to had set up our own shop for sell a certain amount of house hold items or what ever we picked off the street to sell on our little stall table on the street where we had lived with Parents until growing up and getting up to no good but no longer like that today we have steady jobs and pay our way for health y foods .oh by the way my sister lucky to marry and have a son . but husband years later passed away with cancer and now a single mum and very well up bringing her fine young man and a degree in Universities and became a doctor and and as for me. I never married and had any kid. .just happy to read books and work as a librarian until my retirement age .and graceful grew older in my own unit as refused a nursing home vowesd to stay and die in my own home with one last cooked dish of chicken with rice and sweet and sour sauce. .and sister s Chicken curry cuisine.and by the way .my little disc passed away first due to pneumonia and at least still had mum in her nursing home though very old now but still good and I visit her time and time and love those children sandwiches and children with rice and sauces my sis taught me to cook but I just learnt a few new. Recipes involved more chicken . The end and now and such is life as said somewhat and some where. But what it mean. Well don't know
