Rita checked to make sure that her eight-year-old, Mikayla, was buckled in before announcing tonight’s new mantra for the benefit of all: “At least we’ll get ahead of the traffic tonight, huh?”  The car was parked at least half a football field away from the doors of Carson Pirie, usually the most active entrance to the mall.
