“Wait here.” The soldier gestured into the hall, then as quickly as he’d led Peter there, he turned around and left. The large metal door closed softly. Peter took in the high ceilings and the grey walls. Too far above to make any impact, a dusty white fan squeaked and swayed precariously. The drabness was appropriate.
