I started telling bedtime stories to my children countless years ago. We would lay in the grass while I pointed out the constellations and told them legends of of Greek mythology. I love to talk story with friends and family. Talk story is a Hawaiian term where folks get together and share stories. In the 15 years I lived there, I went to Big Island Film Festival writing workshops and a took writing class. I started writing there just for fun.
Retired now, I want to share my stories with a wider audience.
I love a life of adventure as do my wife, kids and grandkids. Our active sports are sailing, body surfing, free diving, and kayak sailing among the ocean creatures. I was the "fire guy" for kayak club whale watch barbecues.
I love exploring, especially in other countries where we talk with the locals to learn their customs, history, geography and anthropology.
I volunteered for star gazes for observatory events, at schools and for tourists at local hotel beaches, as well as at the Visitor Station up on Mauna Kea. I worked occasionally on short observatory projects high up on Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa.
We moved 5 years ago to North Carolina where the grandkids live now and where we explored the coast when the kids were young.
