In the cramped darkness, I could hear faint shuffling sounds of her taking out something from her bag. I knew what she took out -- it was a box of fire matches. With a flick of her wrist, the matchstick scratched against the box, thus causing a splash of sparks followed by a sudden flame that slowly became stable under my eyes. It corroded the matchstick into black powder as smoke was formed and moved to and fro. The flame morphed itself from the shape of a flower petal to that of a phoenix while I admired its beauty.   ...
Some memories are abandoned but a spark of light from seven years ago is something that I can never forget. A life lesson that always lingers around every day.   That time, I stared at the same full moon as today. The cobalt plate hung up on top of my head a couple of years ago...  “Mom,” my young self called that night. “Why is the moon blue today?” I was curious about everything and I would always make older kids and adults go crazy. ***IMPORTANT: Characters are inspired by the airship Norge event. The date is set in 1903 at the North Pole. Some facts might be wrong: for example, Serbin Husky was not made known until 1908, and the North Pole’s sky isn’t very likely to be gray. Comment if there are any other problems. At the end of the vision, there was only a boundless mass of white, not even a single spot of gree...

This time, I felt no light to call me to wake up. How I missed the touch of the sun against my face, the refreshing air that I could breathe in, the vibrant rays that will send golden colors in my eyes… I rubbed my hands on my face and my brain felt dizzy. As if I was high up in the death zone of Mount Everest, struggling to breathe in the requir...

Elbert Chase was most worried about lunchtime. And he was right. Elbert had been just another kid standing in front of a cafeteria of unfamiliar students. It was not like he didn’t have any friends, but it was that he's new to Kevin's Academy. Elbert was thirteen with short black hair and light brown skin, but with a chubby body, and two round glasses with a thickness of an inch. He was thirteen years old, 5 foot 1, and Elbert had short legs that could barely support him to run; he barely had any muscle because he had a weird disease that ma...
