I purse my lips together as I pour coffee from the French press into the thick ceramic mug. The smell of dill spice and scrambled eggs rises from the stove behind me, orange peels sitting on the wood board on the counter in front of me. Soft music plays from my Bluetooth speaker, filling the tiny kitchen of our apartment. Mari is still asleep, at least I hope so. I don't want her breakfast in bed to be ruined. Annarey blinked. Not a quick, unconscious one, but slow and purposeful. She almost hoped to see something other than the snowy woods she stood in when she opened them again. Behind the backs of her lids, she saw a day in December 2019: a wolf, sitting on the crispy white ground, and herself, crouched by it. Shaina. I am a teen writer with a passion for novels, strong female characters, found family feels, and contemporary/urban fantasy with a touch of rebellion. I am obsessed with mermaids and have yet to write the epic mermaid series that I'm constantly dreaming of and changing in my mind. I'm new to the whole short story thing!
