The bike glided to a stop, the slush underneath squelching under the tires. He turned the key, and the rev of the engine was replaced with the hush of the wind. The man slowly exhaled, breathing out and gazing at his own breath frosted by the night air. He stayed seated just a moment longer, then swung a leg over and stood up.  Reaching across the seat, he unbuckled a small bag and hoisted it onto his shoulders.
