Author bio

My love of reading and writing started at a very young age and, as a teenager, I would often be found with my nose in a book or reading under the bedclothes with a torch after my father had turned out my bedroom light. After leaving school, in my spare time, I wrote short stories for my own pleasure, but reading was still my passion. In 1987, my first daughter, was born and diagnosed with cerebral palsy. This prompted me to write a novel about the struggles of bringing up a daughter with a profound disability. This became a joint project with another author, as I was struggling with the emotions of trying to write about my daughter's life. 'My Rachel' is now available on Amazon under my pen name of S.J.Gibbs. At the beginning of 2015, my writing began in earnest after I joined a local writer's group. I successfully completed the Writers Bureau Creative Writing Course, Which I thoroughly enjoyed. I am also involved in a collaborative novel starts by the writers group. I have completed my novel "The Cutting Edge", which is aimed at the women's fiction market, and is currently being edited ready for publication. A short story "Fighting A Battle with Himself' has been written, edited and published, and is available on Amazon. I have also co-written a book, 'The Secrets to healing with Clear Quartz Crystal,' which has also been published and is available on Amazon. All of my publications are written under my pen name of S.J.Gibbs.
