I was born and raised in West Michigan, the fifth generation of two families that came to our area about the same time and mingled via marriage nearly 70 years ago. When people ask me who I am I'm compelled to put Jesus first, since without Him I am nothing, and He influences the majority of my writing. Beyond that I am Dad to two wonderful teens, a theologian, a musician, a woodworker, a lover of the outdoors, a conversationalist, and the primary caregiver to my rather aged Mom. Something tells me that at 61 years old I'm probably among the more seasoned citizens of Reedsy. I've always been a writer but have never really pursued it with an eye toward letting others read what I've written. My daughter, who is also a writer with a presence on Reedsy, inspired me to give it a go and get input from others as to whether or not anything I write could be worthy of publication. My interests are varied, as is my writing. Most of my writing comes from actual experiences gained from a lifetime of living with a family that is keenly interested in writing, history, humor, and religion. We can literally find humor in just about anything, and it comes through in our writing. I hope you find enjoyment in what I write, and I welcome your comments and constructive criticism.
