Although environmental spellcraft or 'elemental sorcery' as most of the population referred to it as had long been replaced by the combination of human science and modern Elvish potions...there was still something almost sacred about interacting with the fundamental elements of nature. For those born with the natural gift to communicate with nature, environmental spellcraft was as instinctive as breathing. In fact, it wasn't above the ordinary to find those with this particular talent to spend their lives in complete isolation in place...
As a solitary water elemental, my choice of animal companion was the talk of not only my family and friends but of my curious neighbours as well. Unlike most water elementals, I chose not to live by the coast but instead preffered to live by the raging yet somewhat peaceful rivers of the Bouddi national park...right on the border of the Elvish empire. I enjoyed my life, despite the curious daily stares of the Earth elementals who were my neighbours...they just could not understand me, not that I blamed them. A water elemental livi...
Feel free to call me traditional...or a 'mamma's boy', I've been called considerably worse by people of a much higher status. I am proud to be apart of the Nagerrotay lineage, my ancestors for generations had been famous for our particular ability to tune into the universal energy and obtain the information we needed. For thousands of years the Nagerrotay had been advising the Fae's royal council and those who requested our assistance. When the Fae and the human world had made their initial contact over half a century ago, it had trigge...

I made a decent living as a guide for those who wanted to pass through the wild yet breathtaking beautiful Elvish mountains. The 'Flumen' mountains, known for their namesake river were a series of steep summits covered heavily in thick vegetation that sprawled out lazily for hundreds of kilometres between the lands of the Fae and the Elvish Empire. Despite the majestic fauna of the mountains and the picteresque scenery, temperatures jumping from sub zero to over 50 degrees were the norm and deterred most travellers. Flurried blizzards could ...
If you had told me that two months ago I would be sitting in my parents winter chalet about to go and join my siblings out on the slopes, I would have laughed in your face...well if I had the confidence to that is. The last time I had seen my family, I was in the midst of being escorted into the royal academy's awaiting limosuine as my entire neighbourhood watched, that kind of event stuck vividly in the mind of a shy 14 year old who could hardly deal with the common trials and tribulations of everyday life...let alone what was befalling her...

I hated my job, I hated my abilities yet most of all I hated the people that exploited my heritage. Yes, I was one of the last living members of the Tridont tribe with enough pure DNA to have the ability that my ancestors were so famous for...we could not lie, we could not deceive, even if it was for the best. Over the last 5000 years or so , the original founding Elvish Tribes had become diluted and mixed as Elves married into other tribes or even ran off with humans, Fae or dwarfs. For an Elf such as myself to have enough pureblood left in...
The old 80/20 rule applied to basically all aspects of my life, especially when it came to work matters. Unfortuntely, due to the nature of my work, it meant that the public and private sectors of my life often blurred together and thus I was left spending 80% of my life preparing and 20% of my time actually doing anything. As the heir to the Fae's throne, every move I made was watched...every statement I was made was quoted and spun around with the potential to bite me on the butt someday totally out of context. It was this fact alone that ...
Being 6 years younger than my twin sister's certainly had it's perks. Sure I was too young to be included in their secrets and plans...they simply saw me as their childish, naive and probably annoying sibling that knew nothing about the nature of the world. Little did they know that whilst 6 years was too big of a gap to be 'buddies' with them...it was small enough that I could relate to, or at understand the basics of what was going on in their lives. Whilst they were going through their teenage angst period I was in the later ye...

I know my appearence makes people uncomfortable...my existence is unsettling for people. They stare at me with thousands of questions brimming in their eyes, yet the truth is...the truth is I have just as many questions as they do. Everyone is constantly questioning who they are as a person. We question our motives and our responsibilities. We question whether we have made the right choices and whether we know where our life is going. I won't pretend that I am special...I am just like everyone else, I want the answers to all these ques...
Promising my sister to be a loyal part of her court definitely wasn't how I expected to be celebrating the new year....especially with my parents seated on either side of her glimmering throne beaming with pride. It wasn't unusual for fed up royals to hand over the keys to the kingdom as soon as their heir became of age. In this case, my normally easy going and caring parents had finally reached the end of their tether when it came to ruling the land of Fae. After the bickerings of the seasonal courts over the last couple of months...p...
The geniune unknown and mystery of the events that occur after Death was such a momentous question in a human's soul that often the first thing that they asked me was ' Am I in heaven or hell?' I never know how to respond to this, I mean should I be insulted that they think my smiling face greeting them belonged in hell?...or should I be grateful that they believed I could be heaven's representative? How did I articulate to them that heaven and hell are simply social and religious constructs that are left behind on the mortal plane? ...

The Elvish weren't a cruel people...but they certainly weren't the most heartwarming race. As soon as we reached 10 years of age, we were locked into a magically barriered property for a year as we grew into our abilities and developed out powers. Basically, in the year that an Elf matures...from 10 years of age to 11 years of age that said elf was locked away in a 5 acre property by themselves for a year. It sounded barbaric I know, I still think it is...but it's a bit different when you are living it. In this year of our development we wer...
I have been out of the hospital 6 months now...6 months to the day tomorrow. After 4 months of rehabilitation and 2 months of specific physical therapy I should have been able to fly again roughly a month ago. I could tell my mother's patience was running thin, my doctors patience was running thin...heck even my patience was fading. I had been told time and time again that jumping off the waterfall to save my brother was heroic and an incredible act of family love on my behalf. Truth be told, it was a natural instinct...I didn't even t...
Both Mum and Trish, my mentor at the Sydney Esoteric Science Centre estimated that it would take me 10 days to get home...they thought it would take 10 days for me to get back to Fae in time for the holidays, in time for the summer solstace. After a long year of discreetly studying humans and influencing the gradual shaping of their society, I was exhausted. Being a Fae representative in the mortal world was a challenge on all fronts. Although the Fae look similar to humans, our slightly pointed ears, perfectly symmetrical features and...
