As of now, I am not a writer by profession. However, my blood itches when I don’t write and when I don’t write, I don’t process. In my twenty-five years of existence, I have moved eight times from six countries across four continents. My battles with bipolar disorder, PTSD, ADHD, anxiety, bullying, sexual assaults, childhood abuse, narcissistic abuse, and knowing but not understanding what “home” means, have led from the words in my veins to the flow on my page. It took me seven years, three hospitalisations, two medical leaves, and one change in majors but I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor's in Creative Writing and a minor in Psychology. In that time, I was surrounded by peers who shared stories of their trials and tribulations. In doing so, they inspired me to do the same. So here I am now, an unemployed, college graduate passionate about spreading awareness on numerous topics on the off-chance it will help someone out there. I’m here to explore beauty in the darkness, hoping that by shedding light, I can create a safe space for other struggling individuals to come out and face their demons, maybe even befriend them.
