Ruth O’Leary is from Dublin, Ireland where she lives with her husband, sons and golden retriever. She works as a freelance movie extra playing roles from a nun to a Viking and everything in between. She always carries a notebook and pen on set to scribble down notes between takes. Her debut novel The Weekend Break was published by Poolbeg Books on 04 March this year and went straight in at number 7 in the Irish Times Bestsellers list. This is the first in a three-book deal. She is represented by Kate Nash of Kate Nash Literary Agency, London. Ruth also writes short stories that have been published in two of Ireland’s National publications, Woman’s Way and Irelands Own magazine. She has also had a memoir piece published online in Childlike and articles published in Writing.ie and in a local regional paper. She has read her short stories at Shorter Stories live reading events in Dublin. Ruth also writes a Travel Blog called Rambling Ruth which can be found on her website www.rutholearywriter.com.
