I learnt how to write the same way I learnt how to count. Observation came first and then I mimicked the sound. I learnt how to write the same way I learnt how to climb... Tall unsuspecting trees. Fell a bunch of times. Watched the neighbors do it with ease. Tried it the second time. Got stung by bees. My life on the line. Their lives on the sting. And Aha! That must be what writing means.
