I have been a writer as soon as I learned how to put two coherent sentences together. I was a founding member of a group of like-minded comic book fan writers, pencil artists, inkers, and colorists. That was back in the early 70s. I did a lot of ghost writing for two friends who were professional comic book writers at the time. By the time I had had several sales as a ghost, and I submitted stories under my own byline, the Great DC Implosion happened. Puff! My dreams of a comic book writer's career evaporated. After that i made a few sales to schlock magazines like Ancient Astronaut. Then, I got divorced. There were months at a time when I didn't write a single word. More years later, I had quadruple by-pass surgery. Then my baby sister had her first novel published. Now, I'm two years into retirement. I write every day, whether I feel up to it or not. In the past two years, I've written some 80,000+ words. I'm satisfied that 2,000 are the best I've ever written.
