“Happy New Year!” I hear from the crowd around me. I sit over a tepid cup of coffee at the local 50’s style diner several hours before the ringing in of 2022. The door behind me swings open to issue the biting sting of the glacial winter breeze and an elderly gentleman. The man, in a knee length, slate colored coat and a matching brimmed hat, both of which are dusted with snowflakes, shakes off the cold and walks haltingly into the bustling room. As he approaches the counter where I am huddled from the cold, he waves to people seated...

Wife to my husband of 25 years, mother of 2 wonderful teens and employee of 2 very disdainful Maine Coon cats, I currently reside in a small town in central Massachusetts. With a long family history of military service, including myself, husband, sister, brother-in-laws, father, grandfathers and even great grandfathers, I enjoy doing historical and ancestral research, and serve as the historian for our local American Legion. I enjoy writing and aspire to someday publish several children's stories and works of historical fiction.
