He lay on his back and watched as the summer sky turned darker and the stars became brighter. He wondered if all those years ago when his great grandfather and his grandfather stared up into the sky, through the metal slats of a treehouse roof, and also waited for that moment, the moment when the stars looked like diamonds that hung against the backdrop of a black velvet sky.
