Dear reader, I wish I could tell you that it ends well. It doesn’t. Let me put it this way. Had I known at the start of August what would happen, I would have gone off to summer camp or stayed indoors, not daring to go outside. I would’ve stayed home, where it was safe and there weren’t murderous lightning storms raging outside, ready to strike the nearest person who was dumb enough to be out that day.
