I have been writing poetry since I was an angst-filled teenager. I am now 54 and editing my first novel, which has a supernatural theme, as well as writing poetry ranging from poems of love to poems of ghosts. In January 2023, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor, and immediately went in for surgery. Most of the tumor was removed and it was benign. I then spent a week in the hospital and endured a grueling recovery at home. Due to the region of my brain that was affected by the tumor, I was left with several functional disabilities that prevent me from working. I am grateful for the fact that even though my brain was affected by the tumor and surgery, I can still write creatively. I have a thirty-year career working in human services, including several years as a child protection worker and a case manager. I have a Master of Divinity in Theology, and I am nearing completion of a Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling.
