"Are you coming tonight....?"she nudged me with a soft voice. My palms had already started sweating showing immense tension that I was trying to hide, the dryness in my throat stopped me from replying, drops of sweat gathered on my forehead, eyes trying to avoid her gaze.I tried to take a gulp and replied nervously "ye..yes..sure" the stammer in my voice was sure to narrow her eye brows, she was looking at me straight, piercing me through."Are you still nervous?"she asked,"Yeah,..No..I mean.."I stammered again. She held my hands in her soft ones,an...

Did you ever think how does it feels to be without the liberty of yourself,to be lonely and trashed inside a dark 4×4 cell with rodents and dirt,a bed that consists of some old pillows linen of which is so old that it tends to tear off and rags that cannot give you protection from the severe cold and can never be considered a "blanket". If I wasn't a destitute at the fortune's favor I believe I would have never adjusted in that 4×4 cell with five other prisoners living together in such a way that we hardly had space to shift and breathe fre...

When I stood in front of the rusted entrance to the grand mansion, nostalgia flickered over my mind. This was the same house where I spent my childhood,my vacations with my family,my cousins and my friends. The invaluable house had been a dwelling of all kinds of emotions. It had witnessed every ups and downs the family had been into. The white edifice was stained and yellow now, wild weeds and bushes had taken place of the beautiful hedge fences. It looked old and broken. It was my grandparents'property, who spelled life in this mansion which now ...

The smokey smell of the turkey roasting in the kitchen, smell of freshly baked cornbread and the loud sound of the television in the hall room where the entire family had gathered and perched together on the couch watching the Macy's parade had filled the air with a different kind of enjoyment,Christmas was knocking at the door, the chilly weather had given a message that the harvest was done and it was time to give thanks and celebrate Thanksgiving. Peggy was busy in the kitchen, the menu for today's dinner was great, fall soup, cornbread, mashe...

The sun bloomed on the horizon, stretching its golden petals outwards in to the rich blue sky as if inviting a brand new day. Above those majestic and mesmerizing mountains, kissed to their heady blush by the sun, were clouds that moved in shoals. Under the sunrise, the dew on each tea leaves sparkled like diamonds. The small branches of each tea plants spread out as if proud of the bounty they brought and the sweet aroma that they spread. Birds had started chirping amongst the Mahogany and the Sal of the mystic wild life sanctuary...

Jamie stepped from the black car, gaping at the large mansion that set beyond the sidewalk, towering over her. The cream coating of the paint shone as the bright sunlight fell down on it, causing Jamie to have to squint. Uniquely twisted fencing kept the house enclosed, neatly trimmed hedges surrounded the house. The roof was peaked, slanting down at an angle. The windows had royal purple curtains hanging on the other side of them, drawn so that the sunlight could stream through. As she stepped onto the sidewalk, Jamie noticed a marble fount...

It seemed that the biker cranked open the throttle, as the bike danced a thrilling two-lane tango past redwood forests, hard rocks, snaky lanes, zigzagging crazily to deliver its exhilarated effects .Surely it was breath taking but it wasn't a bike race. It was Rob trying to flee after a murder that he has committed. The cops were behind him chasing past his bike, there was a shoot out but the bullet just escaped Rob's left earlobe. The cops were determined and another bullet luckily went to his left leg, shrieking with the terrible pain of ...

As a child, the building had always fascinated me when we used to go to our school which was 3 kms away.My friends and I used to go to school in cycles. The manor built in Red sandstone used to amaze me as if pulling me towards it.The grand building with the peculiar pointed arch, the steeply pitched roofs and front facing gables gave a dull and grey look, surrounded by dense bush. I had always thought of taking a peek but never had a chance since my friends always thought it should be dangerous to get in to the manor. This manor was establishe...
