The chair screeches on the hard floor and clatters over backwards as he reaches over the metal table and takes hold of my throat. I start at the instant flood of adrenaline the sudden sound provokes but it takes a moment or two longer to realise what’s going on: that he’s intending to throttle me.I stare at him, wide eyed.
