The knife barely makes a scratch on the bars. Whitish marks marr the metal columns, clearly made by the last prisoner. A stream of crimson drips trails down my palm, landing into the fire with a sizzle. It’s done, and there’s no going back now. Jax wraps my hand in a bandage.
