Heat rose from the darkness. It absorbed everything in its path creating a shadow. Then there was no more light. Her presence was known by the skin on her arms, bubbling from the cold draft. As the morning settled in on the little town, so did the mist. Thick air rolled through the hills and fields. It was utterly preposterous, utterly stupid and totally unwise to make that decision. Even if Ella wanted to change her mind, she could not, but she could still feel the tingle through her fingers.Β As the cold, rough metal skimmed pasted her fingertips she knew it was a bad decision.
