Hi, I’m Melinda Chopik. I come from a nursing background, which means I’ve spent a good chunk of my life writing endless patient notes (that counts as writing experience, right?). I also spent years writing policy and procedure manuals—the kind of documents no one ever reads until something goes terribly wrong, lol.
I’ve always loved research and probably would’ve stayed in school forever if someone hadn’t eventually handed me a diploma. These days, writing has become both a creative outlet and a way to make sense of the world. I’ve been working on a novel for the past few years, and more recently I’ve started submitting short stories to grow as a writer, try out new genres, and learn from others.
Nothing excites me more than opening a blank page and seeing that blinking cursor—a glimpse of a character’s life waiting to be created.
