Four smashed, mottled cadavers washed up on the remote beach, while three more ebbed with the tide’s edge. The sun glared over the horizon casting light across the pale cream sand. The sea, now calm, glistened and frothed. Two cockatoos called out to each other. Palm leaves bristled, palpitated, creating a musical psithurism. My name is Mark.

I am currently completing my postgraduate MA in writing. I wrote my first weekly column for a Spanish English language Magazine in 2011 and from there hundreds of feature articles for newspapers.

Eventually, I became a full time journalist for an award-winning media group who run six regional newspapers. Along with my own full page, I wrote features, editorials, copywriting and articles for both print and the online newspapers.

I have written six books from fiction novels to non-fiction and short stories for anthologies.

Back in the UK I work as a freelance Journalist armed with photography skills.

I have a broad sense of humour and an open mind gained from diverse work and people experience. Before I was a French farmer, Berlin house builder and London project manager, I was a steeplejack in Nottingham and Lancashire for 12 years. A year in Tenerife directed me to the Costa Blanca where I lived and worked for 15 years.
