An old man lies dead in his bed. He is surrounded by balloons, a cake with Happy Birthday Mr. Sanderson written in cursive frosting, several unopened presents, a card wishing him well, and a small business card. The business card was on the bedside table and said “Courtesy of the Kindness Committee” and had a smiley face. Stan reached into his mailbox. At first glance, the stack of letters held the usual contents. He carried the bundle home and shuffled through, he saw these papers:  An advert encouraging citizens to report anyone who is possibly associated with the rebellion, the electric bill, ration cards, and a postcard from the leaders talking about their proposed plans to make society better (mostly lies) and thanking everyone for their compliance (more like fear). Hi there, I am a university student who wants to become a nurse. My hobbies include reading, puzzles, and origami. When it comes to reading I am particularly fond of dystopian and fantasy books. Being a bookworm has inspired me to create my own stories. Because I attend school my entries will be few and far in between.
