Christmas came and went, and my Cathy still hadn’t come home. I waited and waited, but the house stayed empty. Apart from me, of course. I’m always here.  A month before the holidays, Cathy had taken a nasty fall. After a broken wrist in the spring and a heart attack in the summer, I’d been bracing for winter's tragedies.
