Hi, I’m Malaya River Reyes Talampas—but I publish under M.R.R. Talampas. I’m 18, half-Filipino, and a writer who’s just starting out in a world already crowded with voices that are only known as extraordinary.
But I’m not here to play it safe.
I write stories that are emotionally honest, politically charged, and sometimes uncomfortably dark. I tackle themes like trauma, abuse, cultural erasure, and identity—not to glorify them, but to confront them head-on. Some of it comes from personal experience, some from obsessive research, but all of it comes from the heart. If something I write ever crosses a line or misrepresents someone’s truth, I genuinely want to know. I'm open to feedback, especially if it makes me a better, more responsible storyteller.
My work blends genres, tones, and styles—I don’t like being boxed in. I believe flash fiction can be just as complex as a novel, and I try to pack as much meaning as I can into every word. Whether it’s satire, horror, sci-fi, or something unclassifiable, I always aim for one thing: truth, no matter how strange or bleak.
Thanks for reading.
