The room is unfamiliar. I don’t know how I got here. The spiderweb-like pattern in the ceiling’s plaster gives me the feeling that I have never slept here before. The strange geometry of the room reinforces that feeling.I look down at my boots; one is untied and both are caked with dried mud.
