As far as she knew, there was no name for her condition. In the past, Elaine had described her symptoms to several doctors. A doctor might ask, ‘... have you had any recent health concerns?’ and she would answer, ‘Yes. Whenever I speak to someone on the phone, I visualise them in incredible detail’.
