The sun charged through the blinds well before the alarm went off.  She didn’t even know why she still bothered setting an alarm -- wishful thinking? Certainty that surely her brain would finally shut down and guarantee her just a couple of hours of blissful sleep?  Hell, at this point, sleep filled with nightmares and not-so-fictional monsters would be welcome compared to the endless monotony of staring at the walls, the backs of her eyelids, the cell phone screen.  Her doctor had tried prescription sleep medication, cocktail...
