Kim Dicso is a multi-genre writer, musician, and artist based in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California. She has co-written and recorded three albums and several singles with her band Folkstar, released under an indie record label she co-founded. Kim was the 2018 Artist in Residence for Athenian Press. Her fiction has received recognition in multiple literary contests. She writes nature articles, edits essays, and performs field work for the forest preservation organization I Love Trees. She is processing the grief of losing her home in a wildfire by fighting the logging and burning of giant sequoia groves.
