Prepare yourself for a cliche, dear reader. My alarm clock is about to go off. Three… two… one… There it is, my obnoxious alarm, at 7:15 in the morning.  “7:15?!” you ask, outraged. I can’t tell if you’re upset that I consider 7:15 early, or if you’re indignant that anyone would have to get up as early as 7:15. If you’re the latter, thank you! We think alike.   Outside, the air is full of water. It isn’t rain or fog. It isn’t mist either. It’s just water, water that can’t decide if it would rather fall to the ground or hang in the sky. Out the kitchen window is a mossy, hidden nook surrounded by sheltering trees. A rabbit huddles at the foot of one, though it can hardly be seen. Sunrise was a few moments ago, but it was a sunrise only for those above the clouds. What a glorious thing it was, too. If I could do it all over again I would cry. That’s the one thing I didn’t do, was cry. Now before you get excited, nobody died. This isn’t nearly so tragic as that. This, though, was the death of an era, a time in my childhood. I sit here in my bedroom, in a life that’s slowly erasing that little girl.
