“A not so simple life” by Karen Wright

Holding the pen is hard to do when the fingers have lost the elasticity of youth; the bones in the fingers have lost their movement and the skin shrouds the hand in far too much material.The glasses; small, heavy framed, slightly blurry help the tiny veined eyes to make out the words that the hand is writing. They would help more if the owner allowed them to be rinsed under the tap with a bit of washing up liquid, but they’ve refused. Actually, the owner had bristled when it had been suggested. Author bio

Grown up girls;paid nanny for 26 years and a real life nanny for 2; loves reading aloud to children and seeing the anticipation in their faces at the prospect of what the next line might hold. Stories I write only have a germ of an idea at the outset but take on a little of a stream of consciousnesses throughout and always end up being written quickly with an ending I didn't often anticipate. For this reason, my sentences tend to be long and a little wordy. I rarely change it afterwards but may add a full stop or two!
