  part i: the dust She stood in front of a gas station in the middle of nowhere, the sun beating down on her neck. It seemed an awfully strange place to begin hunting a god but every witch and worshipper alike had pointed her to this spot. Peeling red letters formed the words Hecate’s Gas and Convenience above the building.
