I remember Cedric, our first and foremost cat.  From the get go a mutual understanding between the cat and we humans was forged, and mostly at the behest of The Cat. We were travelling to Poughkeepsie to pick up one kitten of Tammy’s litter, the spawn of her mating with Smokey Sullivan.  On the way we realized that we should have a name ready, an elegant name.
