Marley groaned, massaging her stiff muscles, trying to ease the ache from hours hunched over the desk. Her eyelids felt heavy and thick; if she closed them, she feared they would not open again. Outside her dormitory window she heard a faint murmur of rhythmic voices coming up through the parking lot, chanting cadences with verve.
