Time passed in a dizzy haze, and I couldn’t distinguish the realm between dreams and reality. I feel trapped, yet afloat, and there was nothing but darkness. Iris glared at the senescent tower’s plain ceiling in frustration, and the isolated, dry, oak bedframe creaked under her weight as she got out of bed.
