Humanity was given little warning when the sun went out. Scientists detected some fluctuations in the normal radiation pattern of our sun, then a few days later, blip! Gone. Literally, gone. Satellites saw the region where the sun once was as an empty space. Telescopes couldn’t see anything either. Hell, NASA even sent a manned mission to check.
