I am a homemaker and writer. I have been published in several poetry books over the years. I wrote for two different community news papers The White Salmon Enterprise and The Tekoa Standard Register in Washington State. I also wrote for Gather.com and Bubblews.com both internet writing sites no longer functional. I have had some college courses in writing and journalism and Got an Award of merit Certificate in 1987 from World of Poetry and the Golden Poet Award from World of Poetry, And again from World of Poetry the Silver Poet award in 1990. I also received the Editor's choice award from Poetry.com April 2008. Additionally I had a two year online and mail course in from the Institute of Children's literature; receiving my Diploma of completion April 2, 2001. I have been a stay at home mom and grandmother and helped home school for 4 years some of my grandchildren until the death of my 4 year old grandson Gerrin. He was killed in a car accident. This tore my heart apart and all our family suffered greatly from this bright child's loss. I did not write for some time because of that. I met Robert Franklin Leslie author of the Bear's and I when I was 16 and he encouraged me in writing. I have been writing stories and poetry since age 7. Bob and I were co-authoring a book "Titled the Secret in Grandma's Attic. When he had a stroke. He had the presence of mind to mail me the unfinished manuscript not yet published or finished. Bob Leslie wrote the Disney movie The bears and I and my childhood family appeared in his book "Wild Pets" He remained a good friend and sponsor until is death. I am waiting art work for 5 children's books right now. I am also writing out the narrated stories told by my dad who passed away in August of 1997. He was a story teller and so was my grandmother. I also have over 200 poems and poetry of varied style ready for publishing soon and working on stories from my own, my dad's, my own children's growing up years and that of my grandchildren. All have titles and in varied stages of completion. I am having my husband help me get them done. I am 70 years old and live rural in Spokane County. We have been married 50 years come April 20th 2020 and will be celebrating our Golden wedding anniversary in July. We raised 4 children, lost two others and raised 3 foster children. We had hardship and trials but also joy and miracles. He is the love of my life and my one and only husband. We have 15 grandchildren living, 4 deceased, Five great grandchildren. I am devoutly a bible believer and Christ follower and associate pastor of Ekklesia Church of God. Our denomination is New Covenant Saints. I help my husband with articles for our online site ekklesiachurchofgod.com and for messages at church. I also have a few other genre's I have been working on as well. One an adult fantasy sci-fi non fiction. I am active in the Eagles in Spokane and love dancing, photography and an avid reader or history and westerns. I do read some romance by Debbie McCromber and considered taking up similar writing but have not done it yet. I grew up with wild pets literally and on a farm. I have stories about them as well. I have had a colorful, rich, life but also at many times a hard life and we struggle financially at times. I never give up though have had periods of set backs and challenges. I don't know if I will get all my stories done or published but If not I have family who will take them up and see to it they are finished and published, Three sons, a daughter and at least two or three grandchildren interested in doing that should I perish before they are done. These are my legacy to my family.
