As usual, I had a fight with my boyfriend. They seemed to be happening more often than they used too. I guess the romantic stage was over and the war had begun. I looked up at the night sky and I wondered if I would ever find someone like my mother and father, they loved each other and didn't even argue. They finished each other's thoughts and sentences. It was like they were on the same page all the time. No, there was no one like that for me. Just a stupid black cat that showed up whenever I came to the park to get away from my boyfriend...

Mayor Bill Starek’s voice droned his speech as Mary Sinclaire fidgeted in her seat. “…And thus, I would like to make a declaration about a woman in our community, a woman who deserves so much more than our meager plaque can give. I am a mom of three children, I have a wonderful husband and I was a Veteran Caregiver to my father who was a Vietnam Veteran (Thank You to our Vietnam Veterans) and the man who taught me imagination could mean so much more than just a book, and a general caregiver for my mother, who taught me to be more than I am.
