Karen woke abruptly to the piercing sound of her alarm clock radio. She was at a crossroads in the youthful stages of her young adult life. Getting out of bed was becoming a chore, post break up from her boyfriend of two years; she was 19 years old with the “whole world ahead of you,” her father would regularly quote.
