Author bio

I joined the US Air Force right out of high school and wrote - a bit. I married and reared children and wrote - a bit. I attended writing workshops and wrote - a bit. I retired from a bank and wrote - a bit. I started a new antique business, became a jewelry appraiser, and wrote - a bit. Then an inherited mitochondrial chromosome conspired with some universal time clock and took away my energy and strength and other physical resources and I began to write - more. My bits added up to publication in MAD Magazine, Outdoor Life, Southern Living, Crescent Review, Minerva Living, and a few others I can’t remember, over a long span. What will my ‘more’ add up to? We shall see. It won’t be as long a span. I don’t write about the trials of the world. I’m old and I’ve lived them and fought them and written letters about them and marched for and against them. Now I’m interested in our relationships and identities. How we see ourselves and others, how our small identities cause greater impact to the world. I believe, after all, that’s the nuclei of the world, both the building blocks and the stumbling stones.
