James Ott is freelancing now after decades of employment as a reporter and editor with the Cincinnati Enquirer and later with McGraw-Hill publications chiefly Aviation Week and Space Technology and as a correspondent for Business Week. He has authored five books: The Greatest Brush, a biography of the artist Frank Duveneck (Branden Books, 2016); Jets Airliners of the Golden Age (Airlife, UK, 1993); Airline Odyssey, (McGraw-Hill, 1995), Seekers of the Everlasting Kingdom, (Edition du Signe, 2002, Strasbourg, France, and Gabby Gargoyle, A Christmas Fantasy, (Archway, 2024). Top award was Aerospace Journalist of the Year 2002 by the Royal Aeronautical Society for an article on the 9/11 impact on world airports.
