The smoke penetrated my lungs, the heat was insufferable. Though my vision was blurred, I ran as fast as I could, praying to see the light. Finally, I shattered the barrier of soot and the cool night air cloaked me as a mother with a warm blanket. As I found my strength, I became aware of what was going on around me.
